The
ranking among the various noble titles that are not
linearly descended from the King can be confusing.
A
Baron outranks all Baronial Knights as do Grand Dukes,
Ducal Knights, and Royal Knights. A Ducal Knight does
not outrank a Baron but can speak with his Liege's
Voice, this is a power not used lightly.
A
Baron may not order a Ducal Knight or a Royal Knight.
A Royal Knight outranks a Baron and may order them as
if their liege. They do not outrank the Grand Dukes
but like Ducal Knights may speak with their liege's
voice but it is a power almost never invoked.
All
who hold rank of Knight or above are able to order any
commoner in tasks to be reasonably expected of one of
their station, it would not for example be proper to
order a farmer to slay a troll except as part of a
militia perhaps.
High
Ministers may invoke their right to determine any
course of action within the bounds of their ministry
but their actions can be called to question by the
High Chamberlain. The High Chamberlain speaks with the
King's Voice at all times but may be called to
question by any with the rank of Grand
Duke.
