The Gate Begins Publication Once More

For the last year many have wondered what happened to The Gate. This journal had become a source of news for the citizens of Neridia and the visitors to our great nation. It has been almost exactly one year since the last edition of the paper was published. Now as 3001 begins so does the reporting of the news.

As our readers know from the last edition of The Gate the archives of Sooth-Gate Publications burned to the ground in what was now thought to be an act of Arson. The trading company Sooth-Gate Publications took heavy losses that day but began its climb out of the deep hole it was in with the publication of the next issue of The Gate in a timely manner. However, despite the quick return to publication the troubles were not over for The Gate nor for Sooth-Gate Publications. Over the two months following the last issue’s publication each of the printing houses owned by Sooth-Gate burned to the ground. Arson was clearly responsible though neither the motive nor the responsible party has yet been discovered.

Stock for the trading company plunged to incredible lows as they scrambled to save the centuries old company and continue to publish the news. Despite all attempts the arsonist and bad luck combine to bankrupt the company and end The Gate as we knew it for the year 3000 at least.

Now after much struggles and aid from several confident investors Sooth-Gate once again has printing houses and is publishing the news as we find it.

Offerings for Sale

For Sale At Auction: Three wands crafted by Senior Guildsman Damon Parti of the Guild of Arcane and Alchemical Studies in Neridia’s Gate initially commissioned by the Hautner Trading Company are now being auctioned off in an effort to pay the debts of the insolvent trading company at the Saturday feast on April 21^st of this year. One is a Dragon’s Breath wand, the second is of Destroy Undead, and the third is of Lightning Blast. A minimum of 25 gold per wand has been set.

For Sale At Auction: One enchanted mace, once belonging to Karl “The Iceman” Krim, is now being auctioned off upon his retirement from the sport of pit fighting. The mace was forged by Master Smith Adock Rintar of the Rintar-DeVane Forge and was enchanted by Guildmistress Andraya Winterthorne of the Neridia’s Gate Guild of Arcane and Alchemical Studies with three damage auras that will last until Spring 3002. The mace will be auctioned off at the Saturday feast on April 21^st of this year. The minimum bid is one hundred gold certificates.

For Sale: Several cantrip tomes, both of celestial and earth. Interested parties should contact High Guildmaster Milo Hawkins of the Merchants Guild to work out details of purchase.

Playwright Seeking Sponsor: A journeyman playwright, trained at the Bardic Collegium in Sooth, Grand Duchy of Bainbridge, seeks a sponsor so that inspiration may be captured and transformed to words that ache to be placed upon parchment.
